Marvin Guevara, 40, was an expectant grandfather when he got into a dispute with a neighbor who was displeased that his dogs were running loose, according to police.

According to investigators, shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14, first responders were called to the 20200 block of Bucklodge Road in Boyds, where there was a reported assault involving a woman and Guevara.

Police say that the investigation determined that a verbal argument broke out between she and Guevara about his dogs running free in the neighborhood and on her family's property.

The argument escalated, resulting with the woman hitting Guevara in the head, sending him to an area hospital, where he later died on Sunday, June 30, officials say, leaving his family reeling.

'In these difficult times for (Guevara's wife), her two children and her grandson who is on the way, we want to be part of help with their funeral expenses as well as future medical bills and be a blessing to this beautiful family that is going through a difficult time but together we are stronger and your help will be a great blessing," organizers of a GoFundMe for the family said.

Any money will be given to his grieving wife and under the supervision of Pastor Walter Umanzor of the Manantial de Vida Apostolic Church.

"Some leave before, others later, but what is certain is that Brother Marvin leaves a great mark in the hearts of all those who were with him. We will see you soon in glory brother Marvin," a well-wisher posted on Facebook.

Another added: "My most sincere condolences to my sister Sandra, her children and brothers in Christ.

"I did not share much time with my brother Marvin but a husband and father and brother beat us to it," she continued.

"I am very sorry not to be able to be at his farewell because I am in my country but my prayers For your family God bless you and according to your hearts."

A celebration of Guevara's life has been scheduled for Saturday, July 13.
